The Gregori Jaguars's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 win over Downey. This was payback for Gregori, who suffered a 63-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Gregori got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayson Powers out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. The game was Powers' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Raj Sandhu was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
The victory got Gregori back to even at 3-3. As for Downey, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Gregori is on the road again on Tuesday and play against El Capitan at 3:30 p.m. on December 5th. As for Downey, they will take on Liberty Ranch at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Liberty Ranch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
