It was a good run, but The Avon Braves unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Canisteo-Greenwood at home by a decisive 20-6 margin. Having soared to a lofty 40 points in the game before, Avon couldn't push the score so high this time.
Chris Thompson threw for 124 yards and a touchdown. Kalman Dolgos was his top target, picking up 70 receiving yards. On the ground, Wesley Farley rushed for 93 yards.
Avon's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Canisteo-Greenwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Avon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Canisteo-Greenwood will take on York/Pavilion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (York/Pavilion is ranked 299th, while Canisteo-Greenwood is ranked 275th).
