Currituck County's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Hertford County. Considering the Knights have won six contests by more than 11 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Riley High and Julianna Evans made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, High pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Evans pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. High has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, High went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Evans went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI. That double marked the first that High has hit this season.
In other batting news, Currituck County got a massive performance out of Morgan Eisel, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Eisel's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Bartolotta, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Currituck County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Landstown hadn't done well against Kempsville recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Chiefs 10-9.
The team relied heavily on Adalyn Stumler, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Lyla Kowalski, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Currituck County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Landstown, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
