Berthoud has won three straight games at home, while Severance has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Spartans will welcome the Silver Knights at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Berthoud's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
Berthoud's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Northridge 16-0. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Wyatt Barmes made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Gavin Kirk was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Richardson, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Berthoud was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Severance unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Timnath by a score of 2-1. The contest marked the Silver Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Hayden Crank spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
Berthoud's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Severance, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Berthoud has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Severance struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Berthoud suffered a grim 13-7 defeat to Severance when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will the Spartans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
