The Nicholas County Bluejackets's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top against Bluegrass United by a score of 72-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bluegrass United's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Stiefel, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of William Moore, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Nicholas County's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Bluegrass United, they dropped their record down to 11-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nicholas County will square off against Frankfort on Saturday. Frankfort is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Bluegrass United, they will head out on the road to challenge Louisville Saints HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Louisville Saints HomeSchool knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Bluegrass United likes a good challenge.
