Daviess County is 4-0 against Union County since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Daviess County Panthers will be staying on the road to face off against the Union County Braves at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Daviess County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
Last Friday, Daviess County didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Owensboro, but they still walked away with a 57-51 victory.
Daviess County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoey Beehn, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Lily Hoagland was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Union County was able to grind out a solid victory over Paducah Tilghman last Saturday, taking the game 54-41. The win was just what Union County needed coming off of a 62-29 loss in their prior match.
Daviess County pushed their record up to 14-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Union County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Everything came up roses for Daviess County against Union County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 66-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Daviess County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
