Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Morton). Everything went their way against the Forest Bearcats on Tuesday as they made off with  a  29-11 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven  runs or more this season.
 Isi Castillo made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and nine unearned) runs off   six  hits. Those  eight  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news, Morton got a  massive  performance out of  Nylah Laster, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and four  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  Laster has posted since back in February of 2024.  Layla Bailey was another key player,  scoring four  runs and  stealing four bases while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 Morton  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .745. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
The  victory was  the third in a row for Morton, bringing their record up to 6-10. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Forest,  they are  on  a  12-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-13.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Morton beat the Bearcats by a score of  10-7 on Thursday.
