Freeport's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Destin Sharks 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won nine in a row.

Madison Worrell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That run marked the first that she has scored this season.

In other batting news, Olivia Gant and Megan Weller did most of the damage at the plate: Gant went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Weller went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Weller is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Lexi Worrell also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Freeport's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Destin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Freeport will take on South Walton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Destin, they will square off against Escambia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
