Basketball Recap: Copper Hills Skates Past American Fork with Ease

Copper Hills had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 67-33 victory over the American Fork Cavemen. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Copper Hills had a senior duo take command as Skylie Barker went 7-for-15 on her way to 18 points and seven assists and Ayla Marston went 6-for-11 en route to 18 points and six assists. Barker has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Adi Callister also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Copper Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Copper Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points over those games. American Fork has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.

Copper Hills will face off against Mountain Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Copper Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season. American Fork does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
