Timpview is 0-7 against Springville since May of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds will square off against the Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. Timpview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
Timpview will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Highland on Monday. The Thunderbirds never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbirds, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Halia Aumua was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Maycie Branin also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Timpview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Springville fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Wasatch on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wasps by a score of 10-9. The loss put an end to the Red Devils' undefeated start to the season.
Allyx Haveron spent all 9.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and six unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, Mary Finlayson stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-6 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Kalia Sjoberg was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Timpview now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Springville, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Springville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Timpview has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Springville, though, as they've been averaging 11 hits. Given Timpview's sizable advantage in that area, the Red Devils will need to find a way to close that gap.
Timpview might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Springville in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
