Concordia Lutheran has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Incarnate Word Academy Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Concordia Lutheran is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Falcons in Texas (the Crusaders are ranked 247th, while the Falcons are ranked 1091st).
Last Friday, Concordia Lutheran beat the Tigers 32-21.
Meanwhile, Incarnate Word Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 63-30 loss at the hands of Village. Incarnate Word Academy was down 53-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Concordia Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they dropped their record down to 9-18 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Concordia Lutheran against the Falcons when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 62-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Concordia Lutheran since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
