The Springstead Eagles waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They blew past Central 55-4 at home. Springstead has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.
Springstead got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was J'ziyah Munford out in front who scored 16 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Munford has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Samantha Suarez, who scored ten points along with seven assists and six steals.
Springstead pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points per game. As for Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springstead won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Weeki Wachee at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Central, they will head out on the road to take on Hernando at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
