After flying high against the Estrella Foothills Wolves last Thursday, the Youngker Roughriders came back down to earth. The game between Youngker and Apollo wasn't particularly close, with Youngker falling 64-47. Youngker found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up seven fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Youngker still got an impressive performance from Dre Edwards, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edwards has scored all season. Xavier Hargrove was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Jordan Moreno continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Apollo, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah White, who scored nine points along with eight steals and six assists.
Youngker now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Apollo, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Youngker will be home for the holidays to greet Kofa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Apollo and Kellis will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
