Lakeshore has been on the road for six straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Franklinton Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Lakeshore pushed their score all the way to 62 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-62 to Live Oak.
Despite the loss, Lakeshore got a solid performance out of Caiden Bickham, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Bickham is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Kaden Vial was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Franklinton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. Their rough 74-50 defeat to Archbishop Hannan might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Franklinton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Archbishop Hannan is ranked 18th).
Lakeshore's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Franklinton, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Lakeshore against Franklinton when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 53-12 win. Does Lakeshore have another victory up their sleeve, or will Franklinton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
