Oxford has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will challenge the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans at 7:00 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Oxford came up short against St. Paul Catholic and fell 57-48.
Meanwhile, Waterbury Career Academy was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Naugatuck 80-49 at home.
Andrew Williams had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaire Lott, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Oxford bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Oxford was taken down by Waterbury Career Academy 96-30 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Oxford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
