Basketball Recap: Sheridan Piles Up the Points Against Herron

Sheridan won the last time they faced Herron and things went their way on Thursday too. The Sheridan Blackhawks blew past the Herron Achaeans 80-42. The Blackhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Sheridan to victory were Damon Winston and Trey Page. Winston dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds, while Page went 7 for 16 on his way to 23 points and five boards. Winston's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Wright, who went 5 of 12 en route to 12 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

Sheridan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Herron's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Smith, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points. Another player making a difference was Cj Stephens, who posted six points and six assists.

Sheridan's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Herron, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.

Sheridan will venture away from home to challenge Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th. As for Herron, they will host Victory College Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
