Last Thursday, Skyline was able to grind out a solid win over Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, taking the game 48-37. Given Skyline's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Decatur Heritage Christian Academy is ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Hilton Head Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Hammond an easy 64-42 victory.
Despite their loss, Hilton Head Christian Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Isaiah Anderson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him. Harrison Skinner was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Skyline is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Hilton Head Christian Academy, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.
