The Armstrong River Hawks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against Obama Academy of International Studies by a score of 49-39.
Jack Valasek continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with 6 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Szep, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds.
Armstrong's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Obama Academy of International Studies, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Armstrong will square off against Perry Traditional Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Obama Academy of International Studies is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Chartiers Valley at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
