Makaila Fry made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Hayden Peebles was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one triple.
Even though they lost, Baldwin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. This was only their first loss (out of four games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Paxon School For Advanced Studies put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by an 18-7 margin over Sandalwood.
Hayley Hinds made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hinds was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Paxon School For Advanced Studies got a massive performance out of Jaela Palmer, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Maleah Rouse, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Paxon School For Advanced Studies pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Baldwin, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Baldwin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Paxon School For Advanced Studies struggles in that department as they've averaged .469. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
