There's no place like home for the Goretti Gael, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They greeted the New Year with with a 52-37 victory over Allegany. The victory was just what Goretti needed coming off of a 54-28 defeat in their prior matchup.
Goretti's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Danica Bennett, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Olivia Bolduc was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Goretti's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Allegany, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Goretti will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Washington at 6:00 p.m. As for Allegany, they will take on Clear Spring at TBD on Monday.
