The Christchurch School Seahorses will face off against the Grace Christian School Kings at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Christchurch School: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Grace Christian School has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
On Friday, Christchurch School came up short against Isle of Wight Academy and fell 7-3.
Christchurch School saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dallas Davis, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grace Christian School). Everything went their way against The New Community School on Thursday as they made off with a 22-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Kings, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Mason Minor made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Minor was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Grant Boucher was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Isiah Ignace was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Grace Christian School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Grace Christian School has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Christchurch School, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Christchurch School has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Grace Christian School struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
