This season hasn't been kind to the Chief Ivan Blunka Eagles, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sand Point on Thursday. Chief Ivan Blunka lost against Sand Point in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 63-35 score last time.
Sand Point can attribute much of their success to Rowdy Tripp, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tyler Gundersen, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Chief Ivan Blunka's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Sand Point, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Chief Ivan Blunka will face off against Sand Point at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sand Point won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Newhalen at 2:00 p.m. on January 19th.
