Football Recap: Lawrence Academy Piles Up the Points Against Wake Christian Academy + How To Watch

Lawrence Academy faced Wake Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warriors claimed a resounding 60-30 victory over the Bulldogs. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-22.

Lawrence Academy was led to victory by Ayden Foster and Simon Lundy. Foster rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, while Lundy threw for 269 yards and four TDs on only 19 passes. What's more, Lundy racked up 22 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lawrence Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lawrence Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trenton Stalnaker and Cooper Powell.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Stiltner, who threw for 194 yards and three TDs on only 18 passes, and also rushed for 43 yards and one score. Wake Christian Academy also got a significant boost from Trace Turner, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

Lawrence Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.5 points. As for Wake Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence Academy will take on Halifax Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wake Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wayne Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
