Appalachian and Southeastern are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Eagles will face off against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. Appalachian never let Jefferson Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. Considering Appalachian has won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Sophie Fore, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Day, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Appalachian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Southeastern earned a 7-3 victory over Pennington on Tuesday.
Ana Philips spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brooklynn Davlin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Taylor Moon, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Appalachian's record is now 15-6. As for Southeastern, their record now sits at 19-12.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Appalachian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .410. However, it's not like Southeastern struggles in that department as they've averaged .368. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Appalachian came out on top in a nail-biter against Southeastern when the teams last played on April 6th, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
