The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gilbert Christian in their matchups with Valley Christian: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Gilbert Christian still got an impressive performance from Keon Talgo, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Talgo hasn't dropped below 21 points for three straight games. Logan Lucero was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Carson Grier continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Valley Christian, scoring 32 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Grier has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kyle Grier, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Gilbert Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-5. As for Valley Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-2 record this season.
Gilbert Christian will look to defend their home court on Monday against Globe at 7:00 p.m. Gilbert Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 982 points over their last 14 contests. As for Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Coolidge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Coolidge is on a 12-game streak of home wins, Valley Christian a 18-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
