Dalton Carter tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Cooper Thompson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hoyt Murray, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, Burley waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolverines, sneaking past 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted against the Wolverines since April 8, 2022.
Ike Redder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered six earned runs on 13 hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jake Redder, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Mack Haynes was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Twin Falls pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Burley, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Twin Falls has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Burley struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Twin Falls beat Burley 12-8 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
