The Andover Huskies will head out to face off against the Elk River Elks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andover will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Andover proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over St. Francis.
Alex Kostecka spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Avery Stock, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Clough, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Andover hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Francis struck out 13 times.
Monticello hit Elk River with a six-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Elks lost 7-1 to the Magic.
Elk River also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Ella Fransen gave up only one earned (and six unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.
Andover's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Elk River, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
Elk River's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Andover hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. It's a different story for Elk River, though, as they've only averaged .200. Will they be able to contain Andover's hitters?
Andover got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Elk River by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
