Northeastern has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The North Johnston Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeastern has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 523 points over their last ten games.
Northeastern can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They really took it to Pasquotank County for the full four quarters, racking up a 43-7 victory on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-7.
Tyselle Spencer was his usual excellent self, rushing for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Spencer is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last nine games he's played. Damari Mcneill was another key contributor, rushing for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 41-14, which was the final score in North Johnston's tilt against Princeton on Friday. North Johnston was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Despite the defeat, North Johnston saw an underclassman step up: Kaleb Pone rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 149 yards and a touchdown. Pone was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards.
Northeastern's victory was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 10-0. As for North Johnston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
