Western Boone scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They lost to the Southmont Mounties on the road by a 84-66 margin. The Stars' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Western Boone lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gavin Hawkins, who went 8 of 11 en route to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Westerfeld, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 16 points and five boards.

It was another big night for Vince Reimondo, who shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards for Southmont. The dominant performance gave Reimondo a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Evan Watson, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points and three steals.

Western Boone's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Southmont, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
