The Bensalem Fighting Owls came tearing into Saturday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 63-55 victory over Wissahickon. Given Bensalem's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Wissahickon is ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bensalem's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amir Drummond, who scored 16 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Antonio Morris, who scored 19 points.
Bensalem's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. As for Wissahickon, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Bensalem will head out on the road to take on Pennridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wissahickon, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lower Moreland at 7:00 p.m.
