The Hughes Lions will be playing at home against the Big Sandy Red Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Hughes earned a 63-50 win over Adamsville.
Meanwhile, Big Sandy was able to grind out a solid victory over Gleason on Tuesday, taking the game 71-61. With that win, Big Sandy brought their scoring average up to 55.7 points per game.
Big Sandy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Seth Green, who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Cagle, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 blocks.
The losses dropped Hughes to 5-2 and Adamsville to 1-5.
Hughes might still be hurting after the 66-43 defeat they got from Big Sandy in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Thankfully for Hughes, Keegan Staggs (who scored 16 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
