Legend is 2-7 against Rock Canyon since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jaguars at 4:15 p.m. Rock Canyon took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Legend, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Legend turned things around against ThunderRidge on Wednesday. They never let the Grizzlies get on the board and left with a 2-0 win.
The result came thanks to Tyler Houston's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Legend saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Silas Meuli, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Another was Jacob Fladebo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rock Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Castle View.
Grant Carmann was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Rock Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Legend, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 5-13.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Legend hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Rock Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Legend suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Rock Canyon in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
