The biggest upset of the week belonged to Maiden, who took down 186th ranked Bandys, 7-0.
The Blue Devils moved up to 195 from 228 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A Catawba Valley. A 7-0 win over the Trojans helped Maiden improve its standing.
South Iredell's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Davin King threw for 104 yards and Evan Dancey had 42 yards receiving. On the ground Eythan Kramm chipped in 96 yards. Rasheed Degree helped South Iredell's passing attack out by catching two balls for 19 yards.
Thanks to the talents of King and Degree the Vikings have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. King leads the league in passing with 917 yards, while Degree has rushed for 661 yards this season. Frank Snider's team's Ricky Taylor leads the league in receiving yards with 440 on 34 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bandys takes on South Iredell. Randy Lowman's team is currently in fifth, while Scott Miller's team is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Trojans take on the Vikings. Bandys has allowed 108 points this season, while South Iredell has given up 80.
The Vikings extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Draughn, 22-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for South Iredell.
