Central Cabarrus is 10-0 against Concord since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Central Cabarrus Vikings' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Concord Spiders at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Central Cabarrus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Central Cabarrus took a serious blow against West Rowan, falling 84-34. Central Cabarrus has not had much luck with West Rowan recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Central Cabarrus saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jahnae Duncan, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Cruz, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Concord was handed a 76-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against South Rowan on Tuesday. Concord had just enough and edged South Rowan out 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Concord has posted against South Rowan since December 1, 2015.
Central Cabarrus' defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Concord, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Everything came up roses for Central Cabarrus against Concord when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 64-18 win. With Central Cabarrus ahead 38-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
