The Homedale Trojans pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 65-55 to Fruitland. Homedale has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Homedale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tiana Sorenson, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Sorenson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Olivia Asumendi was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Homedale bumped their record down to 5-11 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Fruitland, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.
Homedale will head out on the road to challenge Weiser at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fruitland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Payette at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
