On Wednesday, the Owyhee Storm faced the Timberline Wolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Owyhee escaped with a win against Timberline by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Owyhee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mikale Roy, who scored 15 points along with five steals. Josie Davis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Despite the defeat, Timberline saw an underclassman step up: Emmi Swillie scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Swillie has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jamysen Yates, who scored 15 points.
Owyhee is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Timberline, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.
Owyhee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Timberline's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lake City at 1:00 p.m. on February 10th.
