Gonzaga posted their closest victory since May 8, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the St. Mary's Ryken Knights. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Gonzaga's record now sits at 12-9. As for St. Mary's Ryken, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-9 record.

Coming up, Gonzaga will be playing at home against Sidwell Friends at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Mary's Ryken, they will take on St. Michaels at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Saints' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
