The Pottsgrove Falcons are taking a road trip to challenge Pope John Paul II at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Pottsgrove's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Pope John Paul II's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Friday, Pottsgrove was able to grind out a solid victory over Upper Perkiomen, taking the game 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Brandon McGinley was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Tyson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. He also brought in three RBI, marking his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Pope John Paul II won against Upper Merion Area on Wednesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Pope John Paul II's pitcher stepped up to hand Pottstown a 15-0 shutout.
Like Pottsgrove, Pope John Paul II also got a great game from a two-way player: Tyler Timdall. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Timdall was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, AJ Diaddezio was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Chase Frantz, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Pope John Paul II always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pottstown only posted an OBP of .100.
Pope John Paul II's record now sits at 2-0. As for Pottsgrove, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Pottsgrove might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Pope John Paul II in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Pottsgrove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
