Sadly, the Union Spartans are still looking for their first win of the season after 17 matches. They were beaten by Lakewood 75-37 on Friday. Union was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-16.
Leading Lakewood to victory were Jaziah Brunson and Cameron Williams. Brunson scored nine points along with two steals, while Williams dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Brunson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Juan Parker Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Lakewood used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Union. And. Nathan Pitts made the most of the opportunity, scoring nine points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Union's loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Lakewood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.
