On Thursday Saddleback Valley Christian take on The Webb Schools at Damien High School at 7:00 PM. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Saddleback Valley Christian have had to suffer through a 5-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They made easy work of Duarte last Friday and carried off a 26-0 victory. The Saddleback Valley Christian offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the contest anyway.
Meanwhile, The Webb Schools put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They were fully in charge, breezing past Vasquez 64-6. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-6.
Their wins bumped Saddleback Valley Christian to 1-5 and The Webb Schools to 5-1. In their win, Saddleback Valley Christian relied heavily on senior Jack Sweeney, who rushed for 81 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Webb Schools will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
