It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Victoria Cobra HomeSchool Cobra had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on NYOS Charter with a sharp 57-36 victory. The victory was just business as usual for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Israel Sauceda had a dynamite game for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, rushing for 150 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 40 yards and a touchdown on only three passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Phoenix Robertson , who rushed for 137 yards on only 14 carries.
Despite the loss, NYOS Charter still got an impressive performance from Lucas Harman, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns. Mark Amichia was another key contributor, picking up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, NYOS Charter's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Fidel Fuentes was especially locked on to Victoria Cobra HomeSchool's QB and sacked him twice.
Victoria Cobra HomeSchool's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for NYOS Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Victoria Cobra HomeSchool is on the road again on November 25th and play against East Texas Homeschool Sports. East Texas Homeschool Sports is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. NYOS Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
