Given Cumberland Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Central Dauphin East is ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Nolan Buzalka, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ron Nguyen, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Williamsport fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Selinsgrove by a score of 60-48 on Monday.
Cumberland Valley's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Williamsport, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.
