Even though the Hampton County Hurricanes have not done well against the Colleton County Cougars recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Hampton County managed a 45-40 win over Colleton County. That's another feather in the cap for Hampton County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zariona Hudson, who scored 13 points. Carlasia Sanders was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Hampton County's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Colleton County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton County is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Hilton Head Island at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Hilton Head Island is ranked 155th, while Hampton County is ranked 136th). As for Colleton County, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Dorchester at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
