After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wallkill, New Paltz was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Beacon Bulldogs a 12-0 shutout. The Huguenots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by nine runs or more this season.
Ella Gates was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Madison Braren and Anna Maiale did most of the damage at the plate: Braren went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run, while Maiale got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Braren has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava McGinnis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
New Paltz kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Coming up, New Paltz will face off against Red Hook at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Beacon, they will take on Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
