The Ocean View Christian Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Borrego Springs Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Ocean View Christian owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They walked away with a 7-0 win over Warner. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Ocean View Christian.
Meanwhile, Borrego Springs entered their tilt with Horizon Prep with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Borrego Springs simply couldn't be stopped last Thursday as they easily beat Horizon Prep 59-21 at home. With Borrego Springs ahead 33-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Borrego Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexis Urquidez, who rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Urquidez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. Christopher Alcaraz was another key contributor, throwing for 164 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes.
Ocean View Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-3. As for Borrego Springs, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-3.
Ocean View Christian was taken down by Borrego Springs 71-38 when the teams last played back in October of 2018. Thankfully for Ocean View Christian, Alexys Padilla (who rushed for 210 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
