Basketball Recap: Red Bay's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Red Bay had won three straight games and Khalil Luster did his part to make it four on Thursday. The Red Bay Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Winfield Pirates 61-59 thanks in part to Luster, who went 9 of 11 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Winfield lost, don't look at Slate Gilbert. Despite the final result, he went 14 of 29 on his way to 39 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Gilbert a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Chism, who posted six points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Red Bay is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Winfield, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-1.
