Fort Walton Beach found their leader in underclassman SaRuan Newton, who scored 21 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Newton has scored at least a third of Fort Walton Beach's points. Another player making a difference was Taniha Higgins, who scored ten points.
Fort Walton Beach is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Choctawhatchee, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.
