The Freer Buckaroos waltzed into their game on Friday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ben Bolt 73-23 at home. Freer's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Freer had a senior duo take command as Samantha Barker scored 25 points along with five rebounds and four steals and Jayda Washington shot 4-for-6 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Washington also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Bulter, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Freer is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Ben Bolt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freer will take on Premont at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ben Bolt, they will be playing at home against Agua Dulce at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Agua Dulce is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
