While Friday's win was certainly a team effort, someone pulling more than their own weight was underclassman Calandria Montoya. She showed up in a big way on Friday, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Thanks to that strong showing, she's now averaging 5.1 strikeouts per game.

Montoya and Bernalillo will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Del Norte at 3:00 p.m. The last time Montoya duked it out with the Knights (two weeks ago), the Spartans came out on top by a score of 19-1.
