Lena hasn't had much luck against Coleman recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wildcats will welcome the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Monday, Lena made easy work of Goodman-Pembine and carried off a 15-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Bryce Schneider made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Schneider was also big at the plate, earning one run and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Shallow, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mason Spice, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Coleman got the win against Wausaukee on Thursday by a conclusive 14-5. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by nine runs or more this season.
Like Lena, Coleman also got a great game from a two-way player: Cole Berth. He struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. Berth was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Gavin Pusick was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Brady Dufeck was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
